Hello February

Hello February mixed media art piece by Diane Rooney

I know I say this almost every month so forgive me for saying it again;  I love a new month.  This year, more so.  The end of January and the beginning of February means we’re moving closer to Spring.  I’m usually an all Seasons kind of girl but this Winter I’m struggling.  I want the warmer weather of Spring & Summer.  Maybe it’s because I spent 2 weeks in Barbados in January.  It’s the first time I really understood people who go away for a few weeks at a time in our Winter.

So yes, Februay is here.  It’s going to be busy around here.  We’re moving to Cornwall this year and so the next couple of weeks I’m preparing our house for going on the market.  Lots of cleaning, sorting out and decorating going on.

I’m also flexing my creative muscles and moving away from digital scrapbook kits, scrapbooking products.  It’s quite a change and I’ll be going into a lot more about these new changes in another blog post soon.  Both hubby and I need this new change plus it’s part of our plan for our business and new life in Cornwall.  More traditional art and lots more pattern design.  With that in mind I’m doing a couple of online art and design courses.  Lifebook 2014 started back at the beginning of January.  It’s a lovely relaxed year long mixed media art course.  And then at the end of February I start KellyRae Robert’s art course, Hello Soul, Hello Mixed-Media Mantras.  I’ve always found KellyRae Robert’s inspiring and her life story has always spoken to me.  Her new art course was absolutely perfect timing for me.

Finally, at the end of March I’m doing Module 4 of Art & Business of Surface Pattern Design.  Again, this is such perfect timing for me.  Alot of hard work alongside selling our house and changing things up with our business.  I’m pretty sure I’m going to be overwhelmed at some point in the next month or two.

I hope February is everything you need it to be.  What are your plans for the month?  Let me know in the comments.

  1. That’s great Di, you seem to really enjoy doing mixed media, I find it’s very much you. Hope the move goes well and you find the time to relax! :)

    • Thanks Lucie. Yes, I’m loving some of the new changes around here! Doing art every day along with my DAZ work has been so great for us both.
