As I sit here and write, the sun is shining and it feels like a warm Summer’s day. Certainly not early October. I love the feel of warm sunshine on my face, there’s no doubt. But I’m ready for Autumn. For a new Season. Getting cosy and enjoying lighting candles and snuggling up with a good book and warm throw. Actually, nowadays it’s my iPad that I usually snuggle up with. Occasionally a good book. But mainly my treasured iPad as I do most of my drawing and designing on it.
I digress. I have a new colour palette for you. Colour Play: Vintage Threads is inspired by my box of, yes, you guessed it, vintage threads! Last weekend I decided to do a Spring clean, or is it an Autumn clean? As we head into a new Season, I love having a good clear out and deep clean. So during last weeken'd’s clean I came across a box of my Nan’s old sewing threads. She left me all her sewing stash and I’ve never been able to part with it.
Anyway, I had a good rummage and loved that she used to string together similar colours. All the greens together, the blues, purples etc. For some reason, the greens jumped out at me. So I made a lovely green monochrome palette and I’m so pleased with the outcome. From a deep forest green to a bright olive.
I hope you enjoy this palette as much as I have enjoyed putting it together.
I’ve provided the RGB colour hex codes for those of you who would like them. These hex codes are primarily for websites + digital applications such as image/graphics software. Right click to download and save the image to your computer. You can then sample the colours or add the hex code to your graphics software.
Colour Play: Coastal Walk
