Ok, so we’re about to leave January and head into February, so my Happy New Year is a bit late. Nevertheless, it’s heartfelt. A New Year. Oh and a new decade.
It seems January has meant quite a slow start for me. I’m struggling to get back into a routine and normal pre-Christmas rhythm. Not sure why. I love the beginning of a New Year. It’s the best time for starting fresh. Making plans. Creating new goals. Dreaming big dreams.
At first I felt frustrated and annoyed that I couldn’t seem to find my New Year groove. Slowly though I realised that it’s better to go with my struggle and see it as a way of slowing down. Taking my time to really look at what I want to achieve over this next year. What does 2020 mean to me? What do I want it to look like?
Of course, the best laid plans can quite easily go to pot when life steps in and throws you a curve ball.
This time last year, I found myself in hospital really very ill and so began many changes in my life in order to get used to some health challenges I was facing. Nothing life threatening but definitely a little challenging. It might be some of the reason I’ve been so resistant to embrace a routine and get back to some kind of normal work life balance?
So I’m here trying. Taking it one day at a time. I do have a ton of exciting ventures coming up and lots of lovely things to work on. I have big dreams and goals too. So it’s not like I don’t have anything to inspire or motivate me. I’m taking it slow.
Doing one thing every day to move closer to achieving my goals, is still moving forward. No matter how slow.

How is your January going? What does the start of a New Year mean to you?
