One day I’d love to buy a little home on the coast. It seems like a long distant dream.
Nevertheless, I often imagine how I would decorate and style it in these nautical shades of blue, pops of red and a coral pink. With light neutrals to keep it all grounded. Curated bits of driftwood around and collected pebbles and shells in glass bowls and jars. Simple throws and hand stitched quilts on a comfy sofa and armchair.
This was the inspiration for my new Colour Play palette, Coastal Home. I love doing these colour palettes and this one was no exception. I put together a couple new designs to see how the colours would work together, imagining a feature wall with the floral design on wallpaper and cushions in the ticking fabric. And I’d definitely make a quilt using all the designs.
I hope this colour palette and the designs inspire you. Especially how you can do a successful fabric pull for your own sewing projects. Matching bold florals with simple geometrics. Using low volume fabrics alongside medium and dark values to add interest and contrast.
I’ve provided the RGB colour hex codes for those of you who would like them. These hex codes are primarily for websites + digital applications such as image/graphics software. Right click to download and save the image to your computer. You can then sample the colours or add the hex code to your graphics software.
