Over the years, as an artist and designer, I have found colour both inspiring and frustrating. Colour should be fun an intuitive. It’s definitely subjective. As I work on my designs, I thought it might be fun to put together a weekly colour palette to share on my blog.
I’m calling the series, Colour Play, and I hope it will both help you learn more about colour and inspire you when working on your own creative projects.
“Cornish Cove” is my first one and it’s inspired by the many beaches and coves where I live. A blue green analogous palette with a pop of a coral orange to add some interest. There’s also a couple of neutral colours to help ground it. Let me know what you think. I’d love to know if there are any colour palettes you’d love to see. Or if you have a favourite colour that I could be the basis of a colour palette. Be sure to let me know in the comments.
I’ve provided the RGB colour hex codes for those of you who would like them. These hex codes are primarily for websites + digital applications such as image/graphics software. Right click to download and save the image to your computer.
